How do you make your pottery?
I am a hand-builder and I make all my pieces from slabs of clay, molding and shaping into different forms. This process takes more time and patience as compared to wheel-throwing, but this is what I enjoy doing immensely.
What is the material you use for making pottery?
I use only stoneware clay and porcelain in my studio for making pottery. These are mid-range clays (fired to 1200 celsius) and perfect for daily use as they are stronger and less prone to breakage and damage. The glazes used are all 100% lead free and food safe.
Is your pottery food safe?
Yes, all my pottery pieces are 100% lead-free and food-safe.
How do I care for my pottery pieces?
Each of our ceramic ware is made with cone 5 stoneware or porcelain clay which is more resistant to breakage.
To retain the quality of your piece and ensure longevity, hand-washing with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge in soapy water is recommended. However, the products are dishwasher and microwave safe. Avoid placing in extreme hot or cold environments such as oven or freezer as this may cause thermal shock and result in fragility and cracking and/or breakage.
Do you accept commissions or custom orders?
Yes, I do offer commissions and customs orders. Please write to firstname.lastname@example.org for such requests.
Do you take pre-orders?
Pre-order is available for selected items. In case you wish you place a pre-order for an item, you can do so on the website itself. Please note that the item will be ready for shipping in 4-5 weeks.
If you have placed an order for available items along with a pre-ordered item, all items will be shipped together to save on the shipping costs. How do you package your pottery for shipment?
I pack all my pieces with utmost care and attention. All the pieces are bubble wrapped with multiple layers, placed in a thick cardboard box which is cushioned with crumpled paper or air packets. I also add fragile stickers for extra caution. These are finally wrapped in a plastic mailer to protect the box from moisture, etc.
