If you’ve been here for a while, you know this is something I talk about often — consistency. I recently picked up a small mug from @oaktreeliving.sg — mainly for the glaze. It had a stunning metallic, iridescent green that caught my eye instantly. Last year felt like a long pause. Let’s talk about test tiles — the one thing every potter knows they should make… but many of us avoid (hi, it’s me 🙋🏻‍♀️). Creating a perfectly round bottom with slabs isn’t always the easiest thing… and you might wonder, “Why not just use the wheel?”
Two reasons: 1. I don’t know how to use the wheel (yet! 😅)
2. More importantly — I LOVE texture, and it’s so much easier to achieve with handbuilding.
